Awesome is a great word to describe Dan Ogletree, my dad. He
is one of 13 siblings (8) boys and (5) girls 12 siblings living. He is named after his father Daniel Ogletree (deceased) my dad loves family, he is always taking care of the home place, checking on his siblings (which some are ailing).
He retired from the State of MS Dept of Vocational Rehab and since his
retirement he has not stopped - he\'s constantly going here, there wherever he\'s called to help someone repair a machine (vending), washer, dryer whatever is needed and he is there. Every year he keeps saying I\'m not gonna have such a \"big\" garden this year - and when you pull up in his drivewayfirst thing you see is all the rows tilled up and ready for planting, and it never gets smaller.
A heart of gold for giving is a great way to describe him, he
works day in and day out in the garden doing what he loves, to keep very little for himself but to make sure his siblings and friends get plenty of fresh vegetables each year. My Dad is the father of 2, myself and a son (my brother) we are both very lucky to live all in the tri-county area and close enough to spend time with him, whether it be a shrimp boil or just an afternoon of fishing on his pond - his daily routine is feeding the fish.
hunting and spending time on his land in South Rankin County that he
plants each year as well as spending time on the Big Black at his deer camp where he has many friends and most have hunted together over the past 30 years or longer.
I would love for my Dad to be apart of your contest. Thanks for such
an honor to all the Dads. Happy Fathers Day to all!!
