Rick Adams
Wake up with Rick & Kim, weekdays from 5:30am - 10am.

My Bio
First of all, let me say I LOVE MY JOB! To be offered the chance to come in every morning and talk to you, our listeners, about everyday things like getting your lawnmower stuck, hitting your house with your flat bed trailer, busting out the taillight, stuff like that.

I started doing the “radio thing” when I was in 11th grade at Pascagoula High School and haven’t looked back since. It’s also pretty cool hearing from my “goula” friends living here in Jackson and reminiscing about growing up on the coast.

In fact, going through Hurricane Camille when I was only 6 years old,  I think, prepared me in knowing what to say and what to do after Katrina to help you guys out. I am still humbled to this day how many of you personally thank Kim or myself for our on-air coverage after the Katrina.

I used to dream of working at MISS 103 when I was living in Laurel, back in the mid-80’s. I had finished college at Southern (USM) and landing a couple of radio jobs in Laurel and I would be amazed how awesome MISS 103 sounded everyday. It was my DREAM job.

Needless to say, when David Perkins called me up July of 1988 and said “Would you like to come work for MISS 103?” …..I started packing that night.

Now settled in Byram (God’s Country) since 1990, I have found complete happiness. 4 dogs, a big truck and a farm in Terry…. life’s good! Thanks to you and your continued support of MISS 103, I hope to be able to share many more years of my crazy life with you!

A World Record?
Monday 06-14-2010 8:46am CT

Big thank you to Joe, Ashley, Christopher, James,
Haley and my horse Dusty for a great trail ride at
the Big Sands Campgrounds in Utica yesterday!

It was hotter than a hootchie-koochie...but once
when got into some good shade the ride became
more bearable. And hopefully we'll know soon if we
were part of a World's Record yesterday.

Scroll down a bit to learn about what the World's
Record is all about and click the "Welcome" picture
above for some great horseback photos from
Sunday's ride.

Some may be a bit blurry, but the photographer
(Me) was snapping the shots from the saddle
of an ornery horse. Dusty was not having
a good day yesterday.

Here she is....."The Terminator"   Just found out I
have to replace every bit of my air conditioning air
duct system under my house...only going to cost
me 33-HUNDRED DOLLARS!! Oh, And did I mention
my house is not even 3 years old yet!

Aiy-yi-yi! I never realized "Lulu's Crib" under the
house was colder than mine up above, but you gotta
hand it to my big girl...she knows how to get what
she wants!

By the way, click the terminator for some great pics
of her friends taken at the Brookhaven Dog Show.
A nice letter from my good bud Beth below too.
Thanks Beth!

Thank you so much for promoting the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League's
2nd Annual Copiah County Dog Show.  We had perfect weather and a
lot of fun.  We hope to build on this event every year.  Attached are
some photos from the show - just for your entertainment - enjoy!

Note:  there was only one dog that would not walk on the stage - he still
won the largest dog contest.  Ted was a giant scardy cat.

Herman Cain lead a Q&A session at
the Douglas County Tea Party when a
young woman asked him about the attack
by the Left on our Judeo-Christian heritage
in America...

He addressed her question, then went to
the last question of the night, and the crowd
was not expecting what happened next...

The Ridgeland Squirrel Revival
Thursday 06-03-2010 7:39am CT

A squirrel knocks the power out for several
thousand Entergy customers in Ridgeland Wednesday.

Electricity has since been restored to the
area.
Entergy officials said around 5 p.m.
a squirrel caused a short circuit in a sub-station.

At maximum, just over 3,000 customers were without power.  The outage even affected
businesses on and around County Line Road.

The outage caused some issues with rush-hour
traffic leaving authorities to direct motorists.

Entergy said the power came back on
around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday night.

And, sorry....I couldn't resist. Click the pic below..

Thanks to a true friend and a very capable
Ford tractor and box blade...my drainage problem

Lulu's New Eatin Spot...
Monday 05-24-2010 8:52am CT

Just by accident, I filled Lulu's food bowl one morning
and left it on top of her Log home dog house. Next
thing I knew, she had climbed up on a nearby bench
then jumped on to the roof and was chowin' down
on her Kibbles and Kits...
