Maybe the most MOVING tribute to George Jones happened at the 1999 CMA AWARDS.

George had a new hit on the charts called "Choices". The good folks who ran the CMA broadcast asked George to perform the song, but not the whole thing. Only 60 seconds of it. George found it disrespectful and declined to be on the show.

Alan Jackson heard of this and also thought it was a disgrace to ask a living legend to cut his song short. So, while Alan was performing his new song at the time "Pop A Top".. Alan with no ones knowledge plays his own tribute on national TV. Truly one of the most moving moments I've ever seen.. WATCH
